keith relf and armageddon

"33 year-old Keith Relf, former lead singer for The Yardbirds, was electrocuted while tuning a guitar which was not properly earthed. The accident happened in his West London home where he was found by his eight year old son, still holding the plugged-in electric guitar. The Yardbirds had the hits 'For Your Love', 'Heart Full of Soul', and 'Shapes of Things'." - This Day

In 1968 Keith went on to form one of the early progressive rock bands, Rennaissance and 7 years later the lesser known and what might be best described as a progressive hard rock band Armageddon

Armageddon was the only album released by British/American hard rock group Armageddon in 1975. It features Keith Relf of Yardbirds and Renaissance fame, Martin Pugh, lead guitarist with Steamhammer, US-American Bobby Caldwell who was the drummer of Captain Beyond and with Johnny Winter, and Louis Cennamo who was the bass player for Renaissance and Steamhammer. Armageddon sought to create a style unlike any other in rock. (wiki)

Here's the title track 'Armageddon' from that recording.
And a rather splendid video by the uploader Fernando Martins who had posted it 2 years ago as a tribute to Relf. Nice to know some people haven't forgotten his music.
