nixon now

There's a wry humour behind a band that names itself 'Nixon Now', it also has to be said they're another of the hidden rock gems in Germany. Hard to find on YouTube as well because there's a load of "Nixon" red herrings and when you do find a track by them you'll be just one of relatively few that have.
But what a good band this is. Nixon Now are known as the Detroit rock sound in Germany and it's no exaggeration. They boast Michael Davis, who was the bass player for the legendary MC5, as a fan and you can believe that when you hear the riot of a sound this band can kick up.
It's only their second album in some years and it's got the amusing and knowing title "Altamont Nation Express" which was released in 2005. Fortunately that is still available from the excellent Elektrohasch label.
Their equally amusing Nixon Now web site indicates these guys are still around and not defunct but for goodness sakes will somebody get them some gigs and another album, this badass lot are too good to just disappear.
Check their first album "Solution Revolution" out as well (here's a track from that) for anyone that likes their 60's garage rock style at full throttle the track won't disappoint.
Here is their song "Revolver" from Altamont Nation Express.
