pinetop perkins

At the time of his death, Pinetop Perkins had more than 20 performances booked for 2011.
"I can't play piano like I used to either. I used to have bass rolling like thunder. I can't do that no more. But I ask the Lord, please forgive me for the stuff I done trying to make a nickel."
He died at the age of 98 so it looks like the "Lord" had forgiven him many years earlier.
Pinetop Perkins was probably the last touchstone to the origins of Delta Blues.
He was a personal friend of Robert Johnson!

Here he plays with Muddy Waters in the early 1980's performing "Reefer And Champagne" and "Blow Wind Blow" on French television.
