Simen Hestnæs, better known as I.C.S. Vortex in the metal world is a Norwegian musician who has been involved with some of the biggest metal bands to come out of Norway. During his career Vortex has filled many positions with the bands he has played with, though he is most famous as a bassist and vocalist. As well as being bass guitarist and vocalist for the bands Borknagar and Arcturus, Vortex famously spent 10 years with Dimmu Borgir as the bass guitarist and backing vocalist until he departed from the band in 2009.
Since leaving Dimmu Borgir, Vortex has rejoined or revived some of his previous bands but also released a solo album last year titled Storm Seeker. Here is the title track from the album.
