jeff ward

Drummer for Nine Inch Nails and several other bands in Chicago's heavy-metal/industrial-rock scene, Jeff committed suicide in 1993.
A sadly typical story of a guy who found the temptations that went along with the rock and roll life style impossible to resist.
"Friends and family members say he was tormented by a drug problem he couldn't kick, and frustrated by the way he was treated by some of his musical employers."
If it's not bad enough this young man failed to deal with his own weakness the probability it was compounded by - "some of his musical employers" is really the most dreadful epitaph.
Coven singer Dan McGuinness said. "There are people in the business who dissed Jeff. He wasn't the kind of guy who would hold a grudge against people; he would still show up and play on a session if he was asked. But he'd say, `I can't believe I have to call and ask for royalties.'
Dan McGuinness again "That was a big thing for him: that he would have to track people down just to get paid."
No doubt some of these very people are claiming the royalties on the many Nine Inch Nail, Ministry, Lard etc videos that have the ever present advertising revenues.
His friend and Nine Inch Nails band mate Richard Patrick dealt with his death in the Filter track "It's Over."
You might like to check that out here.
But as that has advertising as well here's another video by Filter - Welcome To The Fold which we'll dedicate to Jeff.
