devildriver

And now for something heavy... DevilDriver are an American heavy metal band formed in 2002, originally named Deathride. As too many bands in the area were already named Deathride the band changed its name to DevilDriver, which refers to bells Italian witches used to drive evil forces away.

Bassist Jon Miller formed a band with drummer John Boecklin and guitarist Jeff Kendrick in high school who played cover versions of Metallica, Slayer and Pantera. They talked with Coal Chamber vocalist Dez Fafara while he was in the process of recording the album Dark Days with Coal Chamber in 2002, but had said he was thinking about leaving Coal Chamber. Coal Chamber disbanded in 2003, shortly after Dez formed DevilDriver.

DevilDrivers musical style is mainly described as melodic death metal. The bands first album was not received too well by some music critics, although did include some already classic metal tracks. This year DevilDriver released their fifth studio album and have now proved themselves as one of the more succesful modern metal bands following on from the The New Wave of American Heavy Metal which started in the 1990's

This track, Resurrection Blvd. is taken from DevilDrivers fourth album, Pray for Villains.
