20 years ago, in August 1991, Metallica released their fifth studio album. The self titled album more commonly known as 'the Black Album' produced what are considered as some of Metallica's greatest songs, many of which regularly form part of Metallica's live set list to this day. In 2003, the album was ranked number 252 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
