It's a great big sumptuous sound created by Airbag. And it's as if Pink Floyd had walked back 30 years and picked up life again. It's not doing Airbag down by saying that, they even admit the comparison on their web site, but you can't imagine a more accurate description.
It's not just the composition and the careful musicianship that rings true, it's the production. Decades ago for a band to come up with this sound would have meant a summer in Abbey Rd and a cheque that would have floated a bank.
Even the cover of their new and 3rd album "The Greatest Show On Earth" has echoes of that Floyd cover for "Wish You Were Here" only without the flaming man. Similar sense of surreal alienation though and that is exactly what Airbags lyrics reflect -

"The lyrics deal with the individual and its growing feeling of alienation and distrust in society and the established authorities. At the same time, we are manipulated and kept in a comfortable state of mind, believing we’re in control of our self-centered lives!...
.. This is a record that is a bit rougher and with some heavier parts than before, but still giving us the classic Airbag sound
What! A bit rougher?.. Really?
What's happening with rock in Norway and Sweden these days is some very high class productions.
