asteroid no.4

This is one great album and we should have been on to this when the Asteroid 4's released this in October 2013 but thanks to Valis at 'Trip Inside This House playing a track last week we've seen the error.
It's a classic piece of kaleidoscopic psychedelia and this album has their influences swirling throughout the 10 tracks. These guys or rather the heart of the band have been around since the late 90's and it shows through the crafting of the sound. Songwriting with confidence and an in depth knowledge of their genre. As each track unfolds the echoes of psychedelics history drift in and out without any sense of bland copying. These guys love the medium and know how to handle the textures of psyche. Man, they've even got some sitar working on a few tracks and not too many bands find that easy to weave into a band sound and make sense of it. Other songs as easily take a turn into space rock and freak folk. Some of these tracks would live as comfortably on a Nuggets Compilation of 60's original stuff.
The self titled album 'Asteroid No.4' is available from their bandcamp page where you can buy the download or get it for free if you buy a t-shirt from them... but better still they're going to release the album on vinyl in the coming weeks which is where this album truly belongs.
Now do yourself a favour and sit back with a large one and and soak up the vibe of Asteroid No.4 and the sound of Philedelphia Psyche. A great way to start the year.
