White Denim's music has been impressively described as "influenced by dub, psychedelic rock, blues, punk rock, progressive rock, soul, jazz, experimental rock with home-based recording, jamming approach, intense looping work and unusual song structures".
Which would lead you to think it's a mash of the lot trying to appeal to everyone, it isn't. It's a clear progressive music in sound and style and they produce it with clarity. They're from Austin, Texas, the home of so many of the new and evolving directions of music their annual festival demonstrates.
The band is touring the States at the moment and come across to Europe in November which has not gone unnoticed, 4 out of 6 dates are sold out in the UK already. See their site for more on the tour at whitedenimmusic.com and advance orders on their new album set for November release as well.
Here's a taste of the excellent new single "Corsicana Lemonade" with some messing around chucked in. Great sound.
