crystal jacqueline and cousin jane

Fourth in the Fruits De Mer singles released this August revisiting psyche classics of the tripped out distant past is Crystal Jacqueline's version of Reg Presley's (The Troggs) strange and haunted song 'Cousin Jane', the long-lost Second Hand's 1968 classic 'A Fairy Tale' - and an early Stones single 'Play With Fire'.

"If you're wondering whether female vocals work on 'Cousin Jane', well....please take a listen to this short excerpt, Jane is in for even more than she bargained for with Crystal Jacqueline around than when the late, great Reg Presley was climbing the stairs. While Crystal and Icarus create a driving slice of freakbeat out of the massively underrated Second Hand's song, 'A Fairy Tale', which is surely one of the finest slices of 60s psychedelia ever recorded and was long-overdue a revisit."
