Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's first album in 8 years has just been released.
Here's 25 minutes worth of the new material being worked out at Seattle's KEXP radio at the end of last years tour. The radio studio flattens the sound a little but then that would to tend happen in these sorts of close mike conditions with the studio acoustics.
And despite the name there's actually more hard edge punk than traditional blues to the sound but it's still good snarling rock and roll with some edge to it and Spencer gives it plenty after 20 years paying his dues.
The new album is called Meat+Bone, which sounds about right.
