California is where much of it came from in the 60's and California is where it's coming from in 2012.
Allah-las make as convincing mid 60's groove as you'll hear. Their influences are on display at their blog space alla-lahs.com with a series of mix tapes that are in a world of their own. If any band can include a recording of Chico Hamilton playing Caravan on their site then it brings nothing but goodness. We suspect the Allah-Las will be touring near you soon.
