Sad to see former Fleetwood Mac guitarist, Bob Welch took his own life with a gun on June 7th.
Joining Fleetwood Mac at a time they were in a transitional phase in 1971 he shared the artistic control in a band that had more in-fighting and relationship tangles than the average soap drama.
Leaving the excess' of the Fleetwood drama queens after 4 years he formed power trio 'Paris' with Glenn Cornick, the ex Jethro Tull bass player. Not a commercial success that he would have hoped for but no doubt it was the change that was most important and you could see why it would work with the undemonstrative personality of Cornick.
Bob Welch's face will be recognised more recently in the BBC TV documentary on the Fleetwood era.
He left a note before taking his life. RIP Bob, it should have ended better for you than that.
