Gojira are a metal band from France formed in 1996. The band includes brothers Joe Duplantier on vocals and
guitar and Mario Duplantier on drums. Gojira, who were originally named Godzilla, are known for their
progressive and even obscure musical themes and lyrics and have become one of the more succesful heavier
bands of the new millenium touring with other big names such as Machine Head and Lamb of God.
Joe Duplantier was asked to join the new band Cavalera Conspiracy in 2007 with brothers Max and Igor Cavalera who had both
previously been in the Brazilian band Sepultura and he appeared as the bassist on the first Cavalera Conspiracy
album in 2008.
Gojira have currently been working on their latest album L'Enfant Sauvage which is due to be released in June
2012.
