Finnish metallers Before the Dawn have just released their fantastic seventh album Rise of the Phoenix. Founded as a solo project by the sole songwriter Tuomas Saukkonen in 1999, Before the Dawn have released some of the most impressive melodic death metal albums around. The band have gone through a couple of almost complete overhauls over the years with the latest one being in 2011 before releasing the current album. Even after the difficulties of the latest line up change, the new album is as strong as ever due to Tuomas Saukkonen's impeccable songwriting ability.
