The approach on this track is all about the semi improvised tension and release built with the acoustic guitar, electric piano and an excellent rhythm section,
The songwriting style is bluesy yet also progressive and jazzy and if there was a comparison it would have be in the vibe of Tim Buckley. And like Buckley it has a masterly control of rhythm and mood. Why didn't this guy get noticed more? Why weren't there more records made? It's a complete mystery. Hardly anything is known about him.
It's also the rarest of the albums released on the famous Deram label which was a more progressive / experimental sub-label to the U.K. Decca label.
And if you find this vinyl in the second hand shop it's going to be worth 500 quid!
Here's Zakarrias with enigmatically titled "The Unknown Years".
