terry kath

"Don't worry, it's not loaded". The last words of Terry Kath on January 23rd 1978 after a party in L.A.
The lead guitarist and co founder of Chicago Transit Authority (or 'Chicago') had shot himself while playing a pretend game of Russian roulette. The empty .38 revolver magazine had been shown to his roadie only moments before he fired the round that had been unknowingly left in the chamber.
A sad and hopeless end to the 32 year old Kath who had performed some of the most inventive guitar solo's of the times with even Jimi Hendrix complimenting his talent declaring "..better than me".
For many Chicago fans no one was ever to replace the guitarists presence and quality.
Here's a 1969 video of the bands hit 'I'm A Man'.
Cowbell at the ready folks?... then lets go!
