brownie mcghee

Walter Brown "Brownie" McGhee lived through nearly all of the 20th century. Born November 30th 1915, died February 16th 1996. He came from Tennesse and as a young boy he learnt on a home made guitar made of a tin marshmallow box and a piece of board.
He met Sonny Terry in 1939 and had a life long music partnership of guitar and harmonica. They became known as pure folk artists staying to the duo form for 50 years. No frills. No deviation.
During the blues boom of the 1960's they became a popular choice for festivals all over the world staying to their roots and finding a dedicated audience of new followers.
Here's an outstanding piece of quality film rarely seen of great blues players.
